Natural Protein Shake

This smoothie has to be one of the best of the best for protein intake! Why? Because it has a natural source of protein & a HUGE boost! Not your regular source of protein powder. Sometimes, even the better protein powders can be slightly processed, (unless they are plant based) But we’re using Quinoa! Yes! Quinoa itself is known as a “superfood” & a “supergrain!” Why? Glad you asked! Quinoa is one of the MOST protein rich foods we can eat! Quinoa contains almost twice as much fiber as most other grains, Quinoa contains iron, magnesium/manganese, gluten-free, & very high in antioxidants! Yes!! A total win win situation! Quinoa is also a complete protein. To make things even better, you can add a bit of Greek yogurt for an even bigger protein boost! This smoothie will help you feel better, fuller, it’s healthier, & it’s super YUMMY!!  Quinoa alone is one of the most nutritious foods on the planet! Yeah, you can quote me on this one! Now, what’s in this beauty? I’m here for it & I’m here to tell ya! Let’s talk smooth talk shall we? Get it? Smooth talk? (short for smoothie) Well, you get the picture! This is what you’ll need. As always, please keep in mind, you can cater this shake to YOUR particular taste/liking! My choice of fruit, may not be your acquired taste. So feel free to make it your own! It’s all about the protein & health benefits, so let’s not over complicate things. Eating healthy shouldn’t be complicated! Group Hug


1 cup of unsweetened vanilla almond milk

1-2 tbsp of Quinoa ( I used 1 in this particular recipe! If you’re not familiar with the taste of Quinoa, I suggest using 1 tbsp & work your way up)

1 tbsp of plain Greek yogurt optional

1 well ripened banana

1/2 cup of frozen strawberries

1/2 cup of frozen pineapples

1 tbsp of raw honey for added sweetness optional


Add your Quinoa to your blender, & blend until it becomes a powder consistency. Then add your milk of choice, & other ingredients. Blend until smooth! Drink & Enjoy!
